Are your intentions for being on Facebook more of a business or social nature?

Defintely keep reading if your answer was for business purposes.

As of today, Facebook is the second most trafficked website on the planet
next to Google. If that doesn't make the "light bulb" go off in your head with excitement, than head to the doctor for an evaluation.

With that being said, there are plenty features and options on Facebook to permit
it's users to converse, connect & share with others. If you realize that the "law of reciprocity" is a very powerful force on Facebook, then this concept will allow you tap in the platform's business building properties. In other words if you do 'this' for a friend on Facebook they will usually
feel obligated to 'do it' back to you.

What I'm saying is that if you make positive comments on a friend's post, then they will feel obligated to comment on your posts. This applies in the reverse. If you remain silent and never say you like other people's content, then you will be left alone as well.

So this leads us to to valuable, but often overseen features on Facebook.
I suppose that due to their simplicity, these features are mistakenly overlooked as insignificant "toy-like" features.

The "comment" & "like" buttons are what I'm referencing too. So when we are in "Facebook Marketing" mode we must never forget that we want our audience to find our content interesting and to interact. The more that people read your posts, the more likely they
will want to know more about you and then click on your links that take them to
your products/business/services.

That is the sequence, make sense?

Facebook knows that this is a "give & take" relationship between users. That's why you want
to spend time each and every day reading your friends posts and clicking the 'like' button
if you really like what they have posted.

Let's face it, we all like it when someone compliments our new hair style or shiney car. Let's face it, we all like receiving compliments, but then feel somewhat obligated to return a compliment to the person who originally gave it. It's human nature to enjoy receiving compliments

and then give them back to the same person.
Now, you will not become a successful marketer only by "liking" every post out there, but it will help. It's the same in authentic life, people will realize that you don't mean it, so don't overuse them in the social media arena.

The 'comment' feature is similar but allows more flexibility and creativity for the user. Now
you can add your own personal insight to someone else's content. This can be encouraging, disapproving
or neutral, so think what your going to say cautiously before posting it.

To take it a step further, if your astute, your comments can fascinate other people to
click on your profile to give yourself more exposure. This is an overlooked method.
So be appealing, helpful and enlightening and this will catch the attention of others to your webpage.

When both the 'like' & 'comment' features are used day in and day out in your Facebook
marketing they will foster a "buzz" of attraction to yourself while creating interaction and relationships.

Your audience will be naturally wanting to follow & learn from you. This, eventually,
leads to greater profits, traffic and exposure.
